FAQs
I have a very busy schedule. After I sign up for a Volunteering Opportunity, how many meetings must I participate in?
Normally, if you register for a volunteering opportunity, there will be 1-2 training sessions to allow you to understand your job scope as well as to impart you with the necessary skills. For Own-Time-Own-Target tasks (e.g. Creation of Materials), there will only be a briefing session online before you do it in your own time and submit it before the due date.
What sort of volunteering opportunities can I participate in?
In Kids Learn Code, there will be a range of workshops and opportunities.
Participating in Workshops (Tasked to conduct and teach the students and guide them in the workshop)
Curation of Materials (Tasked to assist in curating a set of materials for a particular workshop)
Ad-Hoc Tasks (E.g. Special Opportunities)
Can I withdraw from the program at any time?
In Kids Learn Code, volunteers are encouraged to attend one or two opportunities yearly. However, we understand that some opportunities may not be suitable or you may not have the time to participate in them. If that is the case, you can either ignore the emails (you are not "forced" to take part in the workshops; no commitment is required), or request to have your information deleted from our system by emailing us at volunteer@kidslearncode.org
What is the difference between being a Volunteer and a member of the Core Team?
In Kids Learn Code, volunteer team members are given many different tasks to participate in, according to their own schedule, with no commitments. However, Core Team volunteers are expected to complete more and take part in more planning-related tasks with a fixed schedule and number of assigned tasks.
I want to join Kids Learn Code as a Core Team member. How can I do so?
If you are keen to do so, do email us at hr@kidslearncode.org with the following:
